Taking Flite

I am still waiting for YouTube to upload my latest video...it has frozen during processing twice already. This is really frustrating. I'm trying running Chrome on Incognito Mode and that seems like it is working, but we shall see.

In the mean time, I went for a ride on my new KHS Flite Team bike today. I didn't know much about KHS before this, as they don't have a big presence in the high end road bike market. However, the bike really impressed me. Smooth, stiff, and lightweight. I love it! I am really lucky to be sponsored by such an amazing company, and to be able to ride such a high quality bike.

Next week I have training camp which will involve meeting new teammates, meeting sponsors, photo shoots, and of course, lots of bike riding. It sounds fun but all that compressed into just a few days can really suck the energy out of you. No worries though, I'm looking forward to it and I can't wait to see what challenges this season will bring.

Aaaahhh!! I totally spaced out and forgot to put up my last video, so...here it is. I averaged about 400 watts for the entire climb, which is just under 10 minutes. That's some work right there!

Four Seasons

Yes, we get snow in SoCal. I love it when I hear people talk about how SoCal doesn't get all the seasons. Well...we do, and the weather is fantastic year round.

Rice Cakes

So I made my own rice cakes today. They are delicious, and gluten free! It was a super easy recipe too.

2 cups calrose rice
3-4 eggs
8-10 ounces of ham (or bacon)
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
Parmesan cheese
Brown sugar (~12 teaspoons)

1. Cook the rice. Easy. Make sure to wash the rice first.
2. Cook the ham in a pan on the stove. Chop up the ham when you are done. Try to drain or soak up as much fat as you can with a towel. Nobody likes fatty foods.
3. Scramble those eggs.
4. Combine everything (EVERYTHING) in a bowl and mix it together. Add as much brown sugar as you want. Throw some cheese in as well.
5. Press everything into a baking pan and sprinkle with more cheese. Throw you masterpiece back in the oven for maybe 2 minutes on broil. You gotta melt that cheese a little bit, mmmm.
6. Let it cool and then cut up into squares (should make about 12). Wrap those bad boys up in foil and throw them in the fridge.
7. Go ride your bike!!
